Renowned singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan recently opened up about his experiences working on some of Bollywood's most iconic tracks. In a podcast with Humans of Bombay's All India Mehfil, Mahadevan shared a memorable encounter with Amitabh Bachchan during the recording of their hit song Kajra Re. Mahadevan recalled how Bachchan, known for his kind heart, went out of his way to lift him with his weight, praising him for the song's success. However, things took a humorous turn when Bachchan jokingly warned Mahadevan not to touch the song's dubbing, saying, 'If you even touch it, I'll destroy your career.' The singer revealed that Big B took the same approach with Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, dubbing his own parts and giving it his 'blessings.' Kajra Re, which features Alisha Chinai, Shankar Mahadevan, and Javed Ali, is one of Bollywood's most memorable dance numbers from the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli. The song brought together Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a single frame for the first time, making it a legendary collaboration. Bachchan's playful chemistry with his son and Aishwarya's electrifying screen presence helped elevate the song to iconic status.
