AR Rahman, a renowned music composer and India's pride, has been at the center of a controversy after some people took offense to his comments in an interview. His family, however, is fighting back with a collection of old videos and pictures showcasing his achievements and contributions to Indian culture. In a series of Instagram stories, AR Ameen, his son, and siblings Khatija and Raheem, shared a montage of their father's iconic moments. One video features Rahman waving to a massive crowd at a cricket stadium as his Oscar-winning song Jai Ho plays in the background, while another shows him performing with Coldplay's Chris Martin. They also shared pictures of him receiving a National Award from President Droupadi Murmu and a photo with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised Rahman's music as a voice of Indian culture. Khatija and Raheem also shared some thought-provoking notes, calling out people for arguing over communal lines. Raheema's note reads: 'They don't have time to read the sacred words that teach love, peace, discipline, and truth, but they have all the time to argue, mock, provoke, abuse, and disrespect each other.' She also pointed out the irony that those who fight over religious texts have never been to a library. In a clarification video, Rahman explained that music has always been his way of connecting with and celebrating Indian culture. He acknowledged that intentions can sometimes be misunderstood and expressed his hope that his sincerity is felt. His family's efforts to defend him are a testament to his dedication to his craft and his love for India.
