Last year, Ashish Chanchlani's appearance on Samay Raina's India's Got Latent found itself at the centre of a major controversy after a clip from the episode went viral, sparking widespread backlash against Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani.

Ashish has revealed that he had, in fact, cautioned Ranveer about going overboard during the show.

Ashish joined Prakhar Gupta's podcast and shared that the outrage wasn't confined to just their episode, but had been simmering for quite some time.

Ashish shared that the episode was filmed in November and released in February, adding that he hadn't anticipated the backlash would escalate to such an extent.

Ashish revealed that he had even called Ranveer the next day and told him things might get dangerous.

Ashish admitted that he wasn't particularly happy with the episode, as he didn't contribute much and felt relieved that he had remained largely silent when the controversy broke.

Ashish has stepped into the sci-fi space with his YouTube series Ekaki, which he has written, directed, produced and acted in.
