Balakrishna Slams 'Duplicate' Heroes: 'Green Screen Can't Replace Original Storytelling'

Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who turned 65 this year, expressed his discontent with the increasing reliance on technology in filmmaking. Speaking at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, where he was honored for his career achievements, Balakrishna criticized actors who prefer to shoot in front of green screens instead of physically being on set. According to ANI, Balakrishna, who marked 50 years in the film industry last year, stated that the current trend of 'technical domination' in filmmaking is a far cry from the traditional art of storytelling. "My movies are larger than life, and our stories are the essence of what we do," he said. "However, nowadays, it seems like the focus is on using technology for everything, even for scenes that could be achieved with simple sets and authentic performances.
