Noted Marathi actor Bharat Dabholkar has taken to social media to share an amusing anecdote about his connection to Bollywood icon Dharmendra. The 56-year-old actor recalled a memorable incident from his days on the Marathi TV serial Gharo Ghari, where he played the lead opposite Savita Prabhune. Dabholkar shared that he was initially asked to wear a white kurta for a bedroom scene, but it didn't work well on TV. Luckily, the unit's costume department had a color kurta worn by Dharmendra in one of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's films. The kurta was given to Dabholkar with great reverence, and he wore it for the scene. However, things took a comedic turn when Dabholkar realized that the bedroom scene in Marathi TV serials of those days involved the husband lying in bed alone, while the wife shouted from the kitchen. Dabholkar's attempt to remove the kurta early in the scene saved the day for everyone involved. The actor expressed his gratitude to Dharmendra for the kurta connection, saying, "I wore your kurta, Dharmendra ji, so we have a connection." This incident highlights the rare opportunity Dharmendra had to play against his popular image of He-man in films like 'Satyakam', 'Anupama', 'Chupke Chupke', and 'Chaitali', directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
