Renowned filmmakers Shoojit Sircar and Vikramaditya Motwane have teamed up to present 'Thursday Special', a poignant short film by Varun Tandon. This tender tale of love, companionship, and change stars seasoned actors Anubha Fatehpuria and Ramakanth Dayama. The film, set to release on January 29 on Humans of Cinema's YouTube channel, follows the story of Ram and Shakuntala, an elderly couple bound by years of marriage, a shared love for food, and a cherished Thursday ritual. In an exclusive statement, Sircar praised Tandon's nuanced portrayal of companionship, ageing, and love, drawing parallels with his own unreleased feature 'Shoe Bite', starring Amitabh Bachchan. Motwane, known for critically-acclaimed films like 'Udaan' and 'Lootera', was struck by the film's attention to often-overlooked lives, highlighting the importance of storytelling in bringing these stories to the forefront. 'Thursday Special' is the result of Karan Luthra's production and Varun Tandon's writing, with Krati Tandon as co-writer and executive producer. The film's sincere storytelling and dedication to its subject matter have earned it the support of Sircar and Motwane, who believe it deserves to be seen by a wider audience.
