Bollywood Unites: Dharmendra's Prayer Meet Sees Emotional Tributes and Fond Memories

Mumbai, November 24 - In a poignant tribute to the 'He-Man' of Indian cinema, Dharmendra, veteran actor and beloved family man, was remembered by his closest friends and colleagues at his prayer meet on Thursday. The event, 'Celebration of Life', was held at the serene Hotel Taj Lands End in suburban Bandra, where the Deol family organized the gathering to honor their patriarch. Dharmendra's sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, daughters Ajeeta and Vijeta, grandsons Karan and Rajveer Deol, and nephew Abhay Deol were visibly emotional as they stood through the prayer meet, which lasted from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. The event saw the attendance of several prominent celebrities, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff, and others, who came together to pay their respects to the man who embodied the spirit of Indian cinema. The Deol family's tribute included elaborate floral arrangements, multiple screens displaying scenes from Dharmendra's extensive filmography, and a giant portrait of the late actor. Playback singer Sonu Nigam performed several of Dharmendra's iconic songs, including 'Main Kahi Kavi Na Ban Jau', 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas', and 'Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge'. Born in 1935 as Dharam Singh Deol in Punjab, Dharmendra featured in over 300 films throughout his six-decade-long career, earning widespread recognition for his versatility in action, romance, and comedy. His numerous classics, including 'Sholay', 'Chupke Chupke', and 'Satyakam', continue to be celebrated by audiences to this day. With the Deol family maintaining silence since Dharmendra's passing, this prayer meet served as a heartfelt tribute to the legendary actor's enduring legacy.
