Boman Irani marked his directorial debut at 65 with the movie 'The Mehta Boys.' As he prepares to turn another year older, the actor reveals that he has already begun working on his next project, which will be a departure from the family drama genre. 'I want to explore different worlds of cinema and not get stuck in one genre,' he explains. This milestone is particularly significant, given that his son Kayoze also made his directorial debut this year with the movie 'Sarzameen,' starring Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan. When asked about their conversations on their new journey, Boman emphasized that making a movie is not easy and that one must be prepared to face challenges. However, he remains optimistic, saying, 'You can’t avoid hardships, but you can learn from them.' Boman also shared his wish list for actors he would like to work with in the future, naming Amitabh Bachchan as a top choice. 'Directing Mr. Bachchan would be an incredible experience,' he says. In addition to his directorial ventures, Boman is also enjoying his role as a teacher, having launched a venture to support aspiring writers in the industry.
