Actor Deepika Padukone has spoken out about the challenges she's faced in her international career, saying she's made a conscious effort to represent India in a way that challenges Western stereotypes. Speaking at the CNBC TV's Global Leadership Summit, Padukone recalled experiencing firsthand the biases and misconceptions that often shape global perceptions of India. The 38-year-old actor, who made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with "XXX: Return of Xander Cage," said she was determined to break free from the expectations of what it means to be an Indian actress in the global industry. "I didn't want to do it the way it's expected of us or suits a global audience," she said. "I wanted to do it my way and on my own terms.
