Actress Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Austrian businessman Peter Haag, alleging years of abuse. Speaking to Mid-Day, her lawyer Niharika Karanjawala revealed that Celina was forced to flee India with no financial support, fearing her husband could harm her custody case. Karanjawala also claimed that Peter Haag prevented Celina from pursuing her film career, forcing her to abandon her 'unrealised potential profits'. Celina, who tied the knot with Peter in 2011, has asked the court to order her estranged husband to pay ₹50 crore as compensation and ₹10 lakh per month as maintenance. In a heartfelt social media post, Celina shared her struggles, stating she never imagined fighting alone without her family's support. The couple has three sons together, born between 2012 and 2017. The case has sparked concerns about the alleged financial manipulation and control Peter Haag exerted over Celina during their marriage. Peter Haag has yet to publicly refute the allegations. Celina's case is now being heard in a Mumbai court under the provisions of the Domestic Violence Act.
