A dramatic scene unfolded at the Bali Jatra festival in Odisha's Cuttack on Thursday night when Grammy-nominated singer Shreya Ghoshal took the stage. According to reports, a massive crowd surged towards the stage as Shreya began her live performance, causing a brief commotion that left one person injured. The situation was brought under control by police, who deployed 70 platoons of personnel for law and order and crowd management. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with fans pushing and shoving to get closer to the stage. However, Commissioner of Police S Dev Datta Singh downplayed the incident, stating that the situation was 'well-managed' and that the injured person was stable. The concert was part of the Bali Jatra festival, one of the largest trade fairs in the country. Thousands of fans had gathered to witness Shreya's performance on the event's concluding day. Despite the incident, the concert resumed after the police appeal for attendees to remain calm and maintain order. Shreya Ghoshal is currently in the news for her collaboration with music composers Salim and Sulaiman on their annual musical project, Bhoomi 2025. The project, which has been revived every year since 2020, features a star-studded lineup, including a soulful love song with Shreya and singer Papon.
