The mother of actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mallika Sukumaran, has made a shocking claim that her son is being targeted in a cyber attack aimed at 'eliminating' him from the film industry. According to Mallika, the attack began after the release of Prithviraj's film Vilaayath Budha on November 21. She alleges that those within the Malayalam film industry, including some organizations, are behind the online harassment and are trying to destroy her son's career. Mallika expressed her disappointment with the lack of support from film organizations, such as the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), and called for them to take a stand against such attacks. She has reportedly collected the IDs of individuals involved in the cyberattack and is urging the industry to support her son. Prithviraj has been involved in several high-profile projects recently, including the Mohanlal-starrer L2 Empuraan, which sparked controversy due to its depiction of the Gujarat riots. Despite this, the film became the second-highest-grosser of Malayalam cinema. He has numerous films lined up, including I Nobody, Khalifa, and Santhosh Trophy in Malayalam, Daayra in Hindi, and Varanasi in Telugu. Mallika also mentioned that the cyber attack is not an isolated incident, but rather a coordinated effort to target Prithviraj and other actors, including Shammi Thilakan, the son of the late actor Thilakan. She believes that the industry needs to come together to address this issue and protect its members from online harassment.
