The Delhi High Court has given the green light for the release of Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film 120 Bahadur on November 21. The decision comes after a public interest litigation (PIL) was filed by the Sanyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha, a charitable trust, alleging that the film distorts historical facts. The court observed that it was too late to make any changes to the film's name or release date, but directed that the names of the 120 soldiers featured in the movie be added at the end as a tribute. However, there is some ambiguity regarding whether all the soldiers' names are included, and the court suggested that the petitioners watch the film and make any necessary corrections for its over-the-top (OTT) release. The PIL claimed that the film, which portrays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati's bravery in the Battle of Rezang La in 1962, distorts historical truth by glorifying Major Shaitan Singh as a lone protagonist. The petitioners argued that the film erases the collective identity and contribution of the Ahir soldiers who fought alongside Major Shaitan Singh. The court ultimately disposed of the petition, allowing the film to be released in theaters as scheduled, but with the condition that the names of the soldiers be mentioned in the credits. The film, directed by Rajnees 'Razy' Ghai, stars Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitaan Singh and is set to hit theaters on November 21.
