The late actor Dharmendra, known for his iconic roles, has left behind a legacy that continues to inspire devotion. During the shoot of his final film, Ikkis, in Lucknow, fans gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the superstar. The actor, who played the role of Brigadier ML Khetrapal, father of protagonist PVC Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal (Agastya Nanda), filmed extensively in the city's Qaiserbagh and Lalbagh localities, causing significant traffic jams. According to line-producer Aroon Singh Dicky, who handled the Lucknow schedule of the film, the fan frenzy was unmatched. 'I've been in line-production for over two decades, but I've never seen such a devoted fan following,' he recalled. Fans, including elderly women, were spotted kissing the chair Dharmendra sat on and applying mud from his footprints to their foreheads. Dharmendra's humility amidst the adulation impressed Singh, who described the actor as 'humble to the core.' The line-producer, a die-hard fan of Dharmendra, shared personal anecdotes from his conversations with the veteran actor. Dharmendra recalled a story from his past, where villagers brought him fresh catfish and country-made liquor, which he happily accepted. Singh concluded on an emotional note, 'There won't be a loving superstar like him again.' Dharmendra's passing on November 24 has left a void in the hearts of his fans, but his legacy will continue to inspire devotion and admiration for years to come.
