Director Aanand L Rai is addressing the comparisons between his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. While acknowledging similarities in the characters' aggression and rage, he emphasizes that his film is distinct. According to the director, the similarities are merely 'ingredients' and not the story. The film's trailer, featuring Dhanush's intense character arc, sparked conversations about toxic masculinity. However, Rai clarifies that the character is not defined by clichés or stereotypes. 'A story is never conceived thinking of your character as an alpha,' he explains. 'For me, the character is emotional and sensitive, and nothing he does is wrong.' Tere Ishk Mein, a romantic drama, reunites Dhanush with Aanand L Rai after Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re. The film also stars Kriti Sanon and tells the story of a young man, played by Dhanush, who falls in love with a woman named Mukti. Their romance is marked by violence and heartbreak, leading to a vengeful pursuit. As the story unfolds, the protagonist becomes a pilot, while his lost love turns to drinking. Tere Ishk Mein is set to release in theaters on November 28, marking Dhanush and Kriti's first film together.
