Tamil superstar Dhanush recently attended the Dubai Watch Week, where he revealed the watch that sparked his lifelong passion for timepieces. Contrary to expectations, it wasn't a luxury brand like Rolex or Omega, but a humble, $1 digital watch his mother bought for him as a child. Dhanush reminisced about his first love for watches, a simple, plastic timepiece with a tiny battery that showed just the time and lit up with a small light. Although it was prone to running out of battery, the actor cherished it for its vibrant colors and flashy design. 'Even when the battery was dead, I'd still wear it to school,' he recalled. Dhanush's fondness for the watch persists to this day, with him proudly keeping it in a case at his home in Chennai. The actor's upbringing in a humble background may have contributed to his appreciation for the watch's simplicity and affordability. In contrast to some men who grow up fascinated by fast cars or gaming, Dhanush's love for watches began at a young age. Dhanush had a busy year, starring in Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa, writing, directing, and producing Idli Kadai, and launching his nephew Pavish in Nilavaku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, which he also directed and produced. His next project, Tere Ishk Mein, is set to release soon.
