Bollywood's most anticipated release, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has finally received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This comes after the film was mired in controversy over allegations of being inspired by the life of late Major Mohit Sharma. However, the CBFC re-examination found no links between the film and the army officer's heroics. The certification revealed the film's plot, which is set against the backdrop of the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, a 20-year-old boy from Punjab, who is recruited by India's Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajay Sanyal to infiltrate and dismantle a powerful terrorist network in Pakistan. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles. Notably, Dhurandhar has been certified with an 'A' rating and a runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, making it the longest Indian film in almost two decades. The film is set to release across 5000 screens in India on December 5 and is expected to be one of the biggest Hindi film releases of 2025. A four-minute post-credits scene has also been revealed, which serves as a trailer for Dhurandhar Part 2, setting up the story for the next installment.
