The pre-release buzz for Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar has been intense, with advance bookings kicking off on Monday. In the first few hours, the film's pre-sales crossed ₹1 crore, indicating a promising start. However, the momentum slowed down by Monday evening, with the film earning an additional ₹35 lakh by Tuesday afternoon. The current figure stands at ₹1.4 crore for the first day and ₹2 crore for the opening weekend. Despite high ticket prices, averaging ₹310 for regular and IMAX versions, demand remains strong. Premium shows at INOX Maison in Mumbai's BKC, priced at ₹1620, have already sold out for Friday. Trade analysts expect Dhurandhar to cross the ₹10-crore mark, but it faces stiff competition from 2024's tentpole action films. War 2, with Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, raked in over ₹20 crore in advance bookings. Chhaava, a more comparable film, earned ₹13.80 crore on day one. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy infiltrating Pakistan's Lyari gangs. The film draws from real incidents and features real people from Pakistan's modern history. With a star-studded cast, including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun, Dhurandhar releases in theatres on December 5.
