Bollywood actor Dulquer Salmaan, known for his nuanced performances in films like Charlie and Mahanati, has spoken out about the criticism he faces despite his success. In an interview, he revealed that he still grapples with self-doubt, often questioning his acting abilities after reading negative comments from some viewers. However, Salmaan, who is gearing up for the release of his period drama Kaantha, believes that this fear drives him to work harder and take on more challenging roles. "I want to prove to myself and others that I'm worthy of these complex characters," he said. As one of India's most versatile actors, Salmaan has made a name for himself with a range of critically acclaimed performances. His latest film, Kaantha, has, however, landed in controversy after a petition was filed in a Chennai court to halt its release. The film's makers have been accused of misrepresenting legendary actor-musician Thyagaraja Bhagavathar's legacy. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha stars Dulquer Salmaan alongside Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana Daggubati. The film, which promises a gripping story about the creative and emotional clash between an actor and his mentor, is set to release in Tamil and Telugu on November 14.
