In an exclusive conversation with acclaimed filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, director James Cameron revealed that one of the most pivotal scenes in Avatar: Fire and Ash - the intense confrontation between Neytiri and Varang - was never part of the film's original script. As Rajamouli shared his emotional response to the film, he noted that Neytiri's character has undergone a significant transformation in Fire and Ash, now exuding a sense of hatred and pain following the loss of her son. This sets the stage for an inevitable clash with Varang, which Cameron initially didn't plan. However, as the story progressed and the character of Varang developed, Cameron realized the need for a visual and thematic distinction. He came up with the idea of Neytiri and Varang engaging in a fierce battle, which was not initially budgeted or scripted. Despite concerns, Cameron was convinced that the scene would elevate the film and create an unforgettable moment. Cameron recalled, 'I said, "Hey, wouldn't it be great if Neytiri and Varang fought in the middle?" Everybody was like, "It's not in the budget, it's not in the script." But I was convinced it was going to be great, like two eagles fighting.' The unplanned idea eventually became one of the film's most intense and emotionally charged sequences. Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently running in theatres in India, available in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
