Bollywood filmmaker Farah Khan is known for her glamorous work, but she's the first to admit that she never prioritized her looks until her 50s. The choreographer-turned-director recently opened up about her self-care journey, which began after she turned 50. In a conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her YouTube channel, Farah shared a light-hearted moment when her husband Shirish Kunder was mistaken for her son on a family holiday. Farah explained that she had always been too busy to focus on her appearance, often prioritizing work over self-care. However, after reaching 50, she realized that she needed to take better care of herself. 'I had to look after myself,' she said, 'especially since I didn't want my kids to think I was their grandmother.' The director shared that it took her seven years to lose weight after turning 50. Farah and Shirish first met on the sets of Main Hoon Na in 2004, where Shirish was working as an editor and Farah was making her directorial debut. Their relationship blossomed over long working hours, shared humor, and a creative connection. The couple married in 2004 and welcomed their triplets, Diva, Anya, and Czar, through IVF in 2008. The incident with Shirish being mistaken for her son left a lasting impression on Farah, who realized the importance of taking care of herself after turning 50.
