A low-budget Gujarati devotional film has stunned the Indian film industry by raking in over ₹75 crore at the box office, a staggering 150x return on investment. Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate, directed by Ankit Sakhiya, has emerged as the most profitable Indian film of the year, leaving behind even the biggest blockbusters like Saiyaara and Kantara: Chapter One. Laalo, which was made for a mere ₹50 lakh, has become the highest-grossing Gujarati film ever, surpassing other successful films like Mahavatar Narsimha and Lokah Chapter One. The film's success can be attributed to its powerful storyline, which revolves around a rickshaw driver trapped in a farmhouse, confronting his demons and experiencing visions of Lord Krishna. Starring Reeva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami, Karan Joshi, and Mishty Kadecha, Laalo has been a runaway success, continuing to add to its box office collections even six weeks after its release. Produced by Manasi Parekh, Parthiv Gohil, Manifest Films & Jay Vyas Productions, and Ajay Balvant Padariya, the film has set a new benchmark for Indian cinema, proving that with the right story and execution, even low-budget films can achieve unprecedented success.
