Bollywood's recent prayer meet for the late Dharmendra has sparked controversy after his second wife, Hema Malini, and their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, failed to attend the event. The absence raised eyebrows, especially since Hema Malini hosted a separate prayer ceremony at her residence to honor Dharmendra. On Thursday, Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, organized the prayer meet at a hotel in Mumbai. However, several celebrities, including Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, were visibly emotional during the event, which was attended by many A-listers, including Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, and Madhuri Dixit. In contrast, Hema Malini took to social media to share an emotional tribute to her late husband, calling him her 'loving husband, adoring father, friend, philosopher, and guide.' Meanwhile, she hosted a prayer ceremony at her residence, where several celebrities, including Mahima Chaudhry and Sunita Ahuja, paid their respects. Dharmendra, a veteran actor, passed away at the age of 89 on November 24, days ahead of his 90th birthday on December 8. The actor was cremated in Mumbai on November 25, and his family has been paying their respects to him through various prayer meets and ceremonies. The controversy surrounding Hema Malini's absence from Dharmendra's prayer meet has sparked discussions among fans and the film industry.
