The eight-part series, co-created by Robert Hull and Harlan Coben, is based on the author's novels and features a complex plot with numerous improbabilities.

The story follows David Burroughs, a former attorney serving a life sentence for the murder of his 3-year-old son, who is revealed to be alive after a picture surfaces with a boy matching his description.

The plot thickens as David's family and friends become embroiled in a conspiracy to clear his name, with the help of a disgraced ex-Boston Globe reporter and a wealthy suitor.

However, the show's reliance on outrageous coincidences and contrivances makes it feel like a shallow thriller, with underwhelming performances from the cast.
