Actor Imran Khan is set to make a triumphant return to the big screen after a decade-long hiatus. The timing of his comeback couldn't be more perfect, as he's also celebrating 15 years since his Deepika Padukone co-starrer Break Ke Baad. Khan is reuniting with director Danish Aslam, and he believes that their collective life experiences make this new project a 'natural progression' of their earlier work. 'The movie is what our team would be doing 15 years later in life,' Khan explained. 'We've both grown, and this is the story we should be telling now.' Khan's new film, which is currently in post-production, boasts an impressive cast, including Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada. The actor credits a co-creative decision-making process for bringing these talented actors on board. 'We all agreed on Bhumi, and she brought a great energy to the set,' Khan said. 'It was the same with Gurfateh.' Interestingly, Khan had initially rejected Break Ke Baad, citing his dislike of narrations. However, a chance encounter with Aslam at a party changed his mind. 'I met him at a party, and we hit it off,' Khan recalled. 'He sent me a draft, and it clicked.' The two went on to shoot the film just a couple of months later. With his new project nearing release, Khan expressed his excitement about being part of a 'happiest set I've ever been on.'
