Actor Janhvi Kapoor has spoken out about the dangers of alcohol addiction, lending her support to an initiative called Off The Rocks. This initiative aims to shift the conversation around alcohol addiction from silence and judgment to a clinical understanding, self-awareness, and access to care.
Janhvi noted that as alcohol has become more normalized in social life, there is a lack of awareness about when social drinking becomes a clinical concern. She emphasized that the conversation around alcohol is often either absent or deeply judgmental, which does not serve those who need support.
The actor highlighted that alcohol addiction is a real, clinical issue that affects people across all walks of life. She stressed that it is not a moral failing, but rather a mental health issue that requires treatment and intervention.
Janhvi partnered with Amaha, a full-spectrum mental health organization, for Off The Rocks. On the professional front, she was recently seen in the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which was a moderate box-office success. Her next project is the upcoming Telugu film Peddi opposite Ram Charan, set for release on 30 April 2026.
