Singer Chinmayi has revealed that Jani Master's wife, Ayesha, frequently calls her to request that she refrain from discussing the choreographer's sexual abuse case. The case involves allegations of grooming and abusing a 16-year-old minor, which Jani is accused of doing while threatening her at the workplace. Chinmayi expressed her concern that Jani's influential connections and wealth will hinder the victim's chances of receiving justice. Chinmayi pointed out that Jani's personal ecosystem has portrayed the alleged relationship as consensual, despite the minor's inability to give consent. She emphasized that the adult has a responsibility to avoid engaging with minors, and that the accused's confidence in a favourable judgment is concerning. Chinmayi stated that when the case is resolved, the public may declare Jani innocent and continue to celebrate him, while the victim may be left without justice. The singer also warned that this case could become a playbook for abusers, who will learn how to exploit their positions of power and avoid accountability. Chinmayi expressed her hope that the victim will eventually become successful and be able to prove a point to the society that celebrates her abuser. Jani Master was arrested in September last year and is currently out on bail. He is accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman, who was a minor at the time of the alleged offense, during a 2020 work trip to Mumbai. The case involves multiple sections, including the POCSO Act.
