Karan Johar Opens Up on Loneliness, Love, and Family: 'God May Not Have Planned for Me'

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar recently appeared on Sania Mirza's show, Serving It Up With Sania, where he candidly shared his experiences as a single parent and his search for love. In a heartfelt conversation, Johar admitted to feeling lonely during mealtimes, highlighting the reality of finding companionship in everyday life. When asked about his views on being single, Karan expressed a mix of acceptance and hope. He revealed that he's come to terms with his situation but hasn't ruled out the possibility of finding love. Citing his past experiences, including a broken heart and one-sided love, Karan acknowledged the pain but also the healing process that came with it. He even referenced his own film, which he claimed was a therapeutic way to cope with his emotions. The 50-year-old filmmaker also spoke fondly of his family, including his late father, Yash Johar, and his mother, Hiroo Johar, with whom he resides in Mumbai. He shares a close bond with his two children, Yash and Roohi, born through surrogacy. Johar's latest project, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released in 2023, featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. In a poignant remark, Karan expressed his desire for love, saying 'Rab ne vo jodi mere liye nahi banayi' (God may not have planned for me). However, he remains optimistic, leaving the door open for future possibilities. As he put it, 'never say never'.
