Actress Khushbu Sundar has hit back at social media users spreading baseless rumours about her husband Sundar C's decision to step down from directing Thalaivar 173, a film starring Rajinikanth and produced by Kamal Haasan. Sundar C had initially been announced as the director of the film, but released a statement on November 13, stating that he was withdrawing from the project due to unforeseen circumstances. In his statement, he expressed his respect for Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, and thanked them for considering him for the project. Khushbu Sundar took to social media to respond to users spreading false information about her husband's departure from the film. One user claimed that Sundar C had narrated a subpar story to Rajinikanth, prompting him to leave the project. Khushbu Sundar dismissed this as hearsay and called out the user for spreading misinformation. Another user shared a meme suggesting that Rajinikanth was running away from Khushbu Sundar, which she responded to by asking if this was how the user's mother treated them.
