Telugu actor Lakshmi Manchu opened up about her harrowing experience of being inappropriately touched for the first time at 15, despite growing up in a sheltered environment as the daughter of actor Mohan Babu. In an interview, she revealed how a school trip on public transportation left her feeling violated and struggling to cope with the trauma. Lakshmi recalled being in tenth grade when she was first exposed to abuse. Typically accompanied by a driver, bodyguard, and her mother, she was excited to take public transport to pick up her hall tickets. However, she faced unwanted physical contact from strangers on the way. "The ugly feeling I experienced... I was just 15 at the time. I don't know if they realized I was a child," Lakshmi said, emphasizing that she wasn't singled out as a special target for abuse. She shared the incident with her friends, who revealed that they too had faced similar experiences. Lakshmi's comments come as a stark reminder that sexual harassment is a common issue, especially for young girls who use public transportation. She noted that if a girl claims she hasn't faced such instances, "she's lying.
