Actress Anupama Parameswaran has recently become a victim of severe online harassment. The 25-year-old actress took to her Instagram to share the traumatic experience, revealing that she has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Kerala. According to Anupama, a 20-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu had created multiple fake accounts to spread false and malicious content about her, including morphed pictures and baseless allegations. The actress chose not to disclose the bully's identity due to her age. Anupama emphasized that owning a smartphone or social media account does not give anyone the right to harass or defame others. She also made it clear that she will be taking legal action against the perpetrator, stressing that cyberbullying is a punishable offense and accountability is real. In her Instagram note, Anupama wrote, 'Every action online leaves a trace, and accountability will follow.' She added that being an actor or public figure does not strip away basic rights. Anupama has been busy with various film projects this year, including Dragon, Paradha, and JSK: Janaki V v/s State of Kerala. Her upcoming film, Lockdown, is all set to release soon.
