Neena Gupta, a renowned Bollywood actress and mother of fashion designer Masaba Gupta, has opened up about her daughter's early aspirations to become a leading lady in Hindi films. In a recent interview, Neena revealed that Masaba was initially drawn to the idea of playing the traditional Bollywood heroine, but was given a dose of reality by her mother. According to Neena, she sat down with Masaba and had an honest conversation about her daughter's physical appearance and how it might not fit the conventional mold of a Bollywood heroine. "I told her, your face is unique, and your body type wouldn't be suitable for the typical Hindi film heroine role," Neena said. However, instead of discouraging her completely, Neena encouraged Masaba to explore acting and consider character roles. Masaba went on to pursue acting, making her debut in the Netflix series Masaba Masaba, where she played a fictionalized version of herself alongside her mother. Neena was blown away by her daughter's talent, saying, "I cried when I saw her work. She's a natural and a pro." Since then, Masaba has appeared in various projects, including Amazon Prime Video's Modern Love: Mumbai and a dance number in Kesari Chapter 2. Meanwhile, Neena is set to star in the crime thriller Vadh 2, alongside Sanjay Mishra, which releases in theaters on February 6. Neena's candid advice to Masaba serves as a testament to her supportive and guiding presence in her daughter's career.
