Parasakthi, the Tamil film starring Sivakarthikeyan, recently received UA certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) just days before its release. Director Sudha Kongara credits Dhurandhar and The Kashmir Files with helping her navigate the certification process. In an interview, Kongara revealed that her film was sent to the revising committee with only four days to spare. Despite having cleared potential censor issues, she faced numerous questions from the CBFC, including concerns over the film's thought and ideology. Kongara argued that the film was necessary to educate people about history and prevent similar mistakes from being repeated. She described Parasakthi as a pacifist film and stated that the censor board eventually agreed, passing the film after a lengthy discussion. Parasakthi, which tells a story set in 1960s Madras during the anti-Hindi imposition agitation, has received mixed reviews and grossed ₹54 crore worldwide in its first four days. In contrast, another Tamil film scheduled for release around the same time, Jana Nayagan starring Vijay, is still awaiting certification from the CBFC.
