In a bid to defy the trend of unnecessary sequels, Fauzi director Hanu Raghavapudi has decided to release his upcoming period drama starring Prabhas and Imanvi in two parts. The second installment will serve as a prequel, delving into India's colonial past. Hanu Raghavapudi, known for directing Sita Ramam, explained that he wants to showcase another dimension of Prabhas' character, exploring the tragic stories of India's colonial era. He also revealed that the second part will feature real-life experiences that inspired him personally. Fauzi, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, is scheduled to release in 2026 in South Indian languages and Hindi. This move comes as the film industry grapples with sequel fatigue, with many big-budget films promising sequels that have yet to materialize. Fauzi's dual-part release strategy aims to offer a fresh take on storytelling, setting it apart from the trend of unnecessary sequels.
