In the ongoing legal battle over late businessman Sunjay Kapur's estate, Priya Sachdev, his second wife, is facing fresh allegations from his children with Karisma Kapoor. However, Priya's representative has argued in the Delhi High Court that it is a common practice, and indeed a 'healthy tradition,' for a husband to leave all his assets to his wife. According to Priya's counsel, Rajiv Nayar, this tradition is not new. Her father-in-law, Sunjay's father, had also followed the same custom by leaving all his assets to his wife, Rani Kapur, in his will. Nayar cited an example where Sunjay himself had suggested changes to his will in February 2025, and the final modifications were made while he was in Goa in March 2025. The representative also pointed out that Priya and Sunjay had made their wills together on the same day, which is a common practice for married couples. Priya is currently fighting a high-profile case over the estate, with Karisma's children and Sunjay's mother and sister questioning the authenticity of the will. Sunjay Kapur, the chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading auto parts manufacturer, passed away in June while playing a polo match in London. He was married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016 and had two children with her before marrying Priya in 2017.
