A dramatic twist unfolded in the ongoing battle over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur's estate. During a recent Delhi High Court hearing, Priya Sachdev, Sunjay's third wife, made some startling revelations. Priya's legal team responded to allegations made by her mother-in-law, Rani Kapur, who claimed Priya had concealed the true extent of Sunjay's wealth. However, Priya's lawyer, Rajiv Nayar, dismissed these claims as 'baseless and reckless'. He provided a detailed list of assets, stating that no money had been transferred abroad. Rani had also alleged that Sunjay was receiving a salary of ₹60 crore. However, Priya's team revealed that Sunjay's actual salary for the 2023-2024 financial year was ₹10 crore, with a one-time bonus of ₹50 crore. After deductions, he received ₹36.5 crore, out of which ₹28.5 crore was used to purchase properties in London. A surprising twist came when Priya's team revealed that Rani herself draws over ₹21 lakh per month from Sunjay's company, Sona Comstar's holding firm AIPL. Her personal expenses are also being covered, just like during Sunjay's lifetime. This revelation has sparked outrage, with Priya's lawyer remarking, 'So much for step-daughterly treatment.' The feud over Sunjay's estate has been ongoing, with his children from a previous marriage, Samaira and Kiaan, contesting Priya's claim to his will. They have accused Priya of fabricating the will to exclude them from their late father's estate. The Delhi High Court has issued notices to Priya and the executor of the alleged will, asking them to respond within three weeks.
