Actor-producer Rana Daggubati appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Telangana on Saturday, addressing allegations of promoting an online betting app. After facing questioning, he spoke to the press, emphasizing the need to 'spread the right message' about gaming apps. Rana, who has recently produced and starred in the film Kaantha, stated that he wants to use the right channels to communicate about gaming and gaming apps. He added that the legal process will be completed later, but he is committed to helping spread awareness. This case stems from the Telangana government's efforts to curb illegal betting activities. The SIT, operating under the Additional Director General of Police and the CID, has filed FIRs against 25 celebrities and influencers, including Rana, Prakash Raj, and Vijay Deverakonda, for allegedly promoting illegal betting and gambling apps through social media. In response to the allegations, Vijay's team clarified that the actor had endorsed a skill-based gaming app in regions where it was permitted. Prakash Raj also clarified that he had advertised a gaming app years ago but stopped when it didn't feel right. He expressed his reluctance to promote such activities due to his personal conscience. Rana's appearance before the SIT comes as the Telangana police continue to investigate the alleged promotion of online betting apps by celebrities and influencers.
