Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has landed in controversy once again for allegedly mocking the sacred Tulu spirit-worship tradition during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. This is the second complaint filed against him, following a previous incident where he mimicked the daivas. According to the complaint filed by Bengaluru-based High Court advocate Prashanth Methal, Ranveer's performance was 'crude, derogatory, and comical' and caused 'deep hurt' to Hindu sentiments, particularly in the Tulu community. The advocate claimed that Ranveer referred to the daiva as a 'female ghost', which he termed 'blasphemous' and showed 'deliberate disrespect'. Ranveer had previously apologized for the incident, stating that his intention was to highlight Rishab Shetty's incredible performance in the film 'Kantara'. However, his apology seems to have fallen on deaf ears, with the Tulu community expressing outrage over the incident. The first complaint was filed by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on December 1, alleging that Ranveer insulted the Chavundi daiva. The latest complaint has been filed at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru, with the advocate demanding that the police initiate legal action against Ranveer. The incident has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling for Ranveer to be held accountable for his actions. The controversy has also raised questions about the importance of respecting cultural traditions and the consequences of mocking them.
