The highly anticipated film Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has seen a promising start to its advance booking, despite ticket prices reaching as high as ₹2400 in Delhi's PVR Director's Cut. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, is set to release on December 5. The movie's ticket prices have surged due to the 'blockbuster surcharge,' a common practice among exhibitors and cinema chains to maximize profits on in-demand films. According to sources, advance booking for Dhurandhar has opened in approximately 3000 shows across India. The average ticket price for the regular version is ₹307 for Friday, and higher for Sunday. In contrast, the average ticket price of the recently released film Tere Ishk Mein was ₹211 on its opening day. Premium screenings in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai are offering recliner seats for over ₹1600 on Sunday. The PVR Director's Cut in Delhi's Vasant Kunj has the highest ticket price in the country at ₹2400, which is already selling quickly. The tickets for similar premium shows at PVR Icon in Mumbai's Andheri (priced at ₹1610) are already sold out for Friday. The film, which also stars Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun, is based on the real-life events surrounding the Lyari gang wars in Pakistan. The advance booking for Dhurandhar started on a promising note, selling over 20K tickets in the first few hours. Although the pace has slowed down, it is expected to pick up over Wednesday and Thursday as the film nears release.
