She emphasized the significance of cinema, saying it's the only 'soothing factor' that brings people together. Reflecting on her own life, Rekha revealed that she's 'alive because of films.' She credited the healing power of cinema, stating that watching movies every day is the key to her well-being. The actress also spoke about her introverted nature, saying she's 'not much of a talker.' However, her eyes convey more than words, as evident in her memorable performances, including her iconic role in Umrao Jaan. Rekha paid tribute to her mother, Pushpavalli, who taught her the importance of living by example. The actress believes that people learn more from observing others rather than being told what to do. Umrao Jaan, based on Mirza Hadi Ruswa's novel, is a poignant tale of a Lucknow tawaif's rise to fame, and Rekha's performance remains one of the film's standout aspects.
