In a historic move, Excel Entertainment's war drama 120 Bahadur is set to release in over 800 defence cinema halls across India, marking the first Indian film to do so through PictureTime's mobile cinema network. The film, opening globally on November 21, aims to bring big-screen entertainment to soldiers and their families in remote areas where regular movie access is limited. PictureTime, in collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, has made this possible by setting up screenings in defence theatres that cater to the country's 1.5 million active soldiers and their families. Founder-CEO Sushil Chaudhary stated that the decision is long overdue, given that only 30% of India's 20-million-strong veteran and family audience has access to these cinemas. Excel Entertainment's Vishal Ramchandani expressed gratitude to PictureTime for making this large-scale outreach possible, saying that the film honours the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces. 120 Bahadur, directed by Razneesh 'Razy' Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, tells the story of the Battle of Rezang La, a pivotal chapter in India's military history. The film stars Farhan Akhtar alongside Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, and others, and is set to resonate deeply with the forces.
