Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, known for his two-decade-long career, has finally put to rest a long-standing assumption that he joined the industry because of his famous father, Pankaj Kapur. In a recent conversation on the Punjab First Voice podcast, Shahid revealed that his parents' separation when he was just three years old left him with a unique upbringing, far removed from the influence of his father's fame. Shahid's parents, Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem, divorced in 1984, and he spent most of his childhood with his mother. He emphasized that his father never made any attempts to secure him a role in the industry, nor did Shahid ever seek his help. This clarification sets the record straight on a misconception that has long surrounded Shahid's entry into Bollywood. The actor also opened up about the emotional impact of his parents' separation, which he felt at a young age. He noted that many people can relate to the experience of feeling a void after a family separation. Shahid's personal life has also taken a different turn since then. He is married to Mira Rajput and has two children with her. Despite his busy schedule, he makes it a point to separate his work and personal life, taking on the roles of a devoted father, husband, and son when he's back home. In his latest projects, Shahid was last seen in the film 'Deva', where he played a police officer. His upcoming films include an untitled project with Vishal Bhardwaj, as well as 'Cocktail 2' alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
