Veteran actress Shefali Shah has expressed her concerns about the current state of television shows in India. In a recent conversation, Shah lamented the shift from well-crafted, engaging storylines to a focus on meeting daily deadlines and achieving high TRPs. Shefali Shah, known for her critically acclaimed performances in 'Delhi Crime', 'Monsoon Wedding', and 'Darlings', among others, has been a part of the Indian entertainment industry for several years. With a background in theatre and a transition to television shows like 'Arohan', Shah has witnessed significant changes in the industry over the years. When asked about her experiences working in television, Shah highlighted the differences between then and now. 'Back then, shows had a clear beginning, middle, and end,' she said. 'Now, there's no end in sight, with shows having 500 episodes or more. The pressure to deliver daily content and meet TRP targets has become overwhelming.' Shah also expressed her frustration with the current practice of killing off characters or changing storylines to boost TRPs. 'When I used to commit to a script, I knew the story would remain the same,' she said. 'But now, it's difficult to distinguish one show from another, as they all follow the same formula.' Shah's comments come as she reprises her role as Vartika Chaturvedi in the third season of 'Delhi Crime', which has received widespread critical acclaim. The show, available on Netflix, follows Vartika as she chases a human trafficking network in Delhi.
