The 4K version of the iconic 1975 film Sholay was set to premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), but the event has been cancelled due to technical glitches. The decision has left fans disappointed, especially considering the film's lead actor Dharmendra's passing earlier this month. Dharmendra, who played the role of Veeru, was a beloved figure in Indian cinema. His son, actor Bobby Deol, had walked the red carpet on behalf of his father at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year, where the remastered version of Sholay was first screened. The new 4K version, which features the original ending shot by director Ramesh Sippy, was expected to be a highlight of the IFFI. However, the cancellation of the screening means that Indian fans will have to wait until December 12 for the film's theatrical release. Despite the cancellation, Ramesh Sippy's session on the 50th anniversary of Sholay will still take place as scheduled at the film festival.
