Singer Sonu Nigam, currently on his 'Satrangi Re' tour, shared his thoughts on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creative field. In an exclusive conversation, Nigam emphasized that AI should be viewed as a helpful assistant, not a replacement for human creativity. The Grammy nominee, known for hits like 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Main Agar Kahoon', expressed his concerns about the impact of algorithm-driven content on playback singing. While acknowledging the benefits of AI in music, Nigam noted that the true essence of music lies in the human soul. During the conversation, Nigam also reminisced about the good old days when music was a deeply personal experience. With the shift from cassettes and albums to digital platforms, he misses the genuine connection people had with music. Nigam's 'Satrangi Re' tour, which kicked off in Mumbai, will soon travel to seven Indian cities, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Shillong, and Delhi-NCR. The musical journey is expected to take audiences on an emotional rollercoaster ride, exploring different emotions and colors through music. When asked about his views on evolving music, Nigam shared that he is still trying to fully understand the process of algorithm-driven content. While he finds that AI recommends music he genuinely enjoys, he is keeping a close eye on how it evolves. As the music industry continues to evolve, Nigam's thoughts on AI serve as a reminder of the importance of human creativity and emotional depth in music.
