Tharun Bhascker's Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi (ENE) has become a cult hit since its release in 2018. The film's sequel, ENE Repeat, was announced in June 2025, but news broke that Sai Sushanth Reddy would not be a part of the project. At a recent Honest Townhall, Tharun revealed the reason behind Sushanth's departure. According to Tharun, Sushanth had moved on to focus on his family business and didn't want to be associated with the project. The director admitted to feeling angry and disappointed, but ultimately respected Sushanth's decision. Despite Sushanth's departure, Tharun decided to move forward with the sequel, casting Srikanth Maganti in the role. Tharun expressed his commitment to the project, stating that the character of Karthik remains the same, and the magic of cinema will bring the story to life. The original ENE film features characters inspired by real-life friends and experiences, including Vishwak Sen, Abhinav Gomatam, and Venkatesh Kakumanu. The sequel, ENE Repeat, reunites the friends and will see them navigating new challenges and priorities. A release date for the film has not been announced, but fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the ENE series.
