Mumbai - The traditional notion of stardom in Bollywood has undergone a significant transformation, according to actors Vishal Jethwa, Adarsh Gourav, and Zahan Kapoor. In a panel discussion at the 15th Indian Film Project (IFP), the actors expressed their concerns about the changing landscape of stardom in the age of social media. Vishal Jethwa, who has gained recognition for his performance in "Homebound," believes that stardom is no longer solely based on an actor's talent and hard work. "The definition of stardom has changed. Earlier, actors earned stardom through their performances and consistent hard work. Today, it's not just about being talented; it's about being popular and having a strong online presence," he said. Zahan Kapoor, a member of the illustrious Kapoor family, pointed out that actors today have to take charge of their own promotion and marketing. "We have to do our own PR and marketing, which wasn't the case a decade ago. It's a different world now, and we have to adapt to it.
