Actor Ram Charan's wife Upasana Konidela has responded to criticism over her advice to IIT Hyderabad students to prioritize their careers and consider egg freezing before marriage. In a statement released on X and Instagram, Upasana emphasized that her choices are a right, not a privilege. She asked if it's wrong for a woman to marry for love, wait for the right partner, or choose when to have children based on her own circumstances. Upasana clarified that she was 27 when she married Ram Charan, 29 when she froze her eggs, and 36 when she had her first child, Klin Kaara. She is now expecting twins at 39. The businesswoman and vice chairperson of CSR at Apollo Hospitals stressed the importance of balancing career and family, stating that she prioritizes both equally. Upasana's initial advice to IIT Hyderabad students sparked debate, with some accusing her of speaking from a place of privilege. However, she maintained that her choices are a result of her hard work and personal decisions. Her statement has reignited the conversation on women's rights to choose their own paths in life, marriage, and motherhood.
