The highly anticipated horror comedy film, The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, is set to premiere in the US on January 8, a day before its global release on January 9. However, fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment and outrage over the ticket prices, which are significantly higher than those for James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash. According to Venky Box Office, the US premiere ticket prices for The Raja Saab are as follows: XD D-Box - $38 (₹3417), Special Premium Formats - $35 (₹3147), Standard D-Box - $33 (₹2967), XD / Other PLF - $30 (₹2698), and Standard - $25 (₹2248). This has led to widespread criticism, with many fans pointing out that these prices are higher than those for Avatar, which is set to be released on December 19. One fan pointed out that the least expensive ticket for The Raja Saab is $25, which is more than the 3D Dolby Vision ticket price for Avatar, which is $20. Another fan shared a screenshot of the ticket price for Avatar at a local theatre, criticizing the distributor for charging exorbitant prices. The pricing has also led to a debate about the value of fans' money, with one fan asking whether it's worth spending $38 on The Raja Saab when they could use that money to buy a week's worth of groceries or pay for their home insurance. The film, directed by Maruthi and starring Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar, is set to be released in theatres for Sankranthi on January 9.
