Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a comedy starring Varun Dhawan, has a flawed and at times entertaining plot. The film revolves around Jass, whose wife forces him to divorce her due to his high sexual appetite. Jass moves on with Preet, but chaos ensues when both women become pregnant, and he is the father of both children.

The film starts off slow, with the first half feeling dull and the jokes rarely landing. However, the interval point offers a glimmer of hope, and the second half gradually finds its footing. The film's humor is naughty and loaded with double entendres, but it doesn't slip into crass territory.

Varun Dhawan delivers a solid performance, revisiting his Main Tera Hero playbook. Maniesh Paul, however, feels underutilized, and the script doesn't demand much from the female leads, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. The music of the film is unremarkable, with the exception of the nostalgic song Chunari Chunari.

Overall, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai asks little of its audience beyond a willingness to surrender to its madness. While the film has its moments, it's a slog to get through, and the runtime feels longer than it needs to be.
